主讲人简介：

胡明晓（Michael Hunter）教授，耶鲁大学东亚语言与文学系副教授。主要学术著作有：《论语之外的孔子》（Confucius Beyond the Analects），通过查考早期孔子资料，提出《论语》成书的年代不早于西汉；《思想的诗学：〈诗经〉如何塑造中国哲学传统》（The Poetics of Early Chinese Thought: How The Shijing Shaped the Chinese Philosophical Tradition），以早期中国思想中最重要的文本《诗经》为中心，重新定位中国哲学传统。

内容简介：

在《史记》最后一章《太史公自序》中，哪种经典范式对司马迁的自我呈现影响最深？最明显的答案是孔子所作的《春秋》，因为司马迁在《太史公自序》中二十余次提及《春秋》，还就《春秋》与《史记》的关系同壶遂辩论。胡明晓（Michael Hunter）教授则认为，理解《太史公自序》奇特而复杂结构的关键不在于《春秋》，而在于《诗经》。在本次讲座中，胡明晓教授将细读《太史公自序》这个司马迁以作者身份出现的故事，说明司马迁如何遵循了《诗经》的自我表达与“回归”逻辑。

Which classical model most profoundly shaped Sima Qian's self-presentation in the final chapter of the Shiji 史記? The obvious answer is Kongzi’s authorship of the Chunqiu 春秋. Not only does Sima Qian 司馬遷 mention the Chunqiu more than 20 times in the "Self-Narration," he also debates Hu Sui 壺遂 about the relationship between the Chunqiu and Shiji. Nevertheless, in this talk I will argue that the key to understanding the very strange and complicated structure of the "Self-Narration" lies not in the Chunqiu but in the Shi 詩. The story of Sima Qian’s emergence as an author follows the logic of selfhood and homecoming (gui 歸) from the Shi.
