Matthias L. Richter

Matthias L. Richter (Ph.D. University of Hamburg, Germany) is Associate Professor of Chinese and Chair of the Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Colorado-Boulder. He specializes in Warring States and early imperial philosophical literature with a focus on textual criticism and manuscript culture. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on various aspects of early Chinese culture in addition to the monograph The Embodied Text: Establishing Textual Identity in Early Chinese Manuscripts (Brill, 2013).
